Business Park Wayfinding

The University of Virginia Foundation appointed Motiska Design to develop the wayfinding and information system for North Fork - A UVA Discovery Park. North Fork is set amongst stunning mountain views and landscaped grounds creating an inspirational and motivational working environment.

Design Brief, design a striking and contemporary signage package that promotes a strong brand, complements the architecture and incorporates the landscaping.

The business park sits on over 500+ acres and is a multi-use project. North Fork provides a hub for invention, discovery, and economic vitality. It is a great example of bringing together the University and community to benefit the world through discovery and the region and commonwealth through economic growth. To better navigate the campus, we broke it into five districts. By doing this we can now help visitors navigate the property easily.

Our design approach has to consider several different aspects. One, the existing buildings do no fit in with the design of the new modern branding. Two, the landscape of the property is one of the main selling points. Three, how do we take all of this into consideration while still designing something innovative that can adapt to different architecture styles?
