IDENTITY DESIGN
Identity design is essentially 'how' a business wants to be perceived by customers. It is through visual identity design that a brand strives to communicate clearly with the target audience. It is the combined message transmitted via the brand name, logo, style and visuals.
The ultimate success of your brand depends on the proper alignment of your visual identity with all the various elements to which it is applied; stationery, print media, electronic media, and signage.
Motiska Design is the successor of the nationally renowned firm Design/Joe Sonderman; whose work includes the design of logos for the City of Charlotte, Charlotte Motor Speedway and the University of South Carolina.
"...to investigate and identify the unique quality
and character of our clients' needs and to
transform them into unique visual solutions that
are implemented in a comprehensive manner."
City of charlotte
Visual Identity Program Master Sign Plan
1981
Motiska Design created a contemporary mark paying homage to the city's namesake, England's Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III, and a color palette of green reflects the city's reputation as the "city of trees." Comprehensive guidelines were developed to insure a coordinated look by all departments, including print collateral, color schemes for vehicles, uniforms and a coordinated system of signage. * designed under firms previous name Design/ Joe Sonderman
Charlotte motor speedway
Visual Identity Program Master Sign Plan
1979
The Charlotte Motor Speedway logo was so successful that Speedway Motorsports, Inc. went on to use it as there corporate brand and can be seen at all of their properties including - Atlanta Motor Speedway, Bristol Motor Speedway, Charlotte Motor Speedway, Kentucky Speedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Sonoma Raceway, and Texas Motor Speedway. * designed under firms previous name Design/ Joe Sonderman
University of South Carolina
Visual Identity Program Master Sign Plan
1994
Approaching their bicentennial, the University of South Carolina's reputation had begun to suffer. To reinvigorate their image the school's leadership sought to establish a new visual identity that was more reflective of their goals, to help re-establish their reputation and celebrate their historic anniversary.
Market research and an investigative design audit lead Motiska Design to recommend a visual identity that would reflect the university's position as the flagship university of South Carolina, incorporate a popular historic campus landmark -- presenting an identity that is both historic and forward looking. * designed under firms previous name Design/ Joe Sonderman
