Downtown Newberry, SC

Motiska Design developed a comprehensive wayfinding sign program for the City of Newberry — a historic South Carolina community working to revitalize its downtown and attract new visitors. Anchored by the restoration of the iconic Opera House, city leaders sought to strengthen the downtown experience and support local economic growth through thoughtful placemaking.

Motiska Design created a signage system that includes trailblazer signs guiding visitors from major roadways, downtown welcome markers, and district street signage that defines the heart of the city. Inspired by the Opera House tower and drawing from a color palette associated with Newberry College and the County Courthouse, the system reinforces a strong and unified visual identity.
